Photo Hunt: Important

Every Saturday, participants post photos based on a theme. The theme for January 19, 2008 is IMPORTANT.

In our home, a significant amount of time is spent in front of the almost outdated pc, whether for working, for gaming or for blogging. Blogging somehow is an interest that is starting to grow with my two older children and I gave importance to internet precautionary measures as well as online ethical standards. Below is Julian, in not so clear photos, short of a few days before turning 6, writing his first post in this blog. It is IMPORTANT to start ’em young, so they say 🙂 Yes, that keyboard has been long gone and we got a new one where dirt from dirty children’s fingertips are not obvious 😀

We did our photo hunt on how Important it is to be friends and share.

We think it is great you let Julian blog.

Blogging is a way to express oneself and of course, with children, these should be regulated. Thanks for the visit 🙂

That is good to start teaching them young the importance of being careful and ethical. The internet is definitely here to stay.

Good behavior doesn’t just apply with face-to-face social interaction but with virtual interactions too. Thanks for the visit, Carver 🙂

Neat shots! The pc is going to be with us for a while… very good to start them young 🙂

Start them young yes 😉 and properly too for they would bring these proper online behavior when they grow up. Thanks, JC 🙂

Nice take on the theme. PCs are very important — and challenging when one has kids that must learn how to use them.

So true Mike, when unsupervised, sometimes my children would hog the computers to themselves for hours playing games. Thanks for the visit 🙂

    this is so COOL!

I’m trying to teach my son to read…he’s 5. He gets distracted so easily with the pictures, so it’s a real challenge for me…

But..I’ll be reading your archives…I wasn’t aware you have this lil side-blog! Hee hee..

Mott, re reading, one can start when ready. Julian started reading very early, on his own. The content of this blog is mostly his lessons for the first grade homeschooling curriculum. Thanks for the visit 🙂

Buti na lang me pc na ano, ngayon research, hw and school projects are easy to do. Nuon typewriter lang hehe.
    TC.

AY, yeah, I did my thesis using the electric typewriter, with disposable ink cartridge, didn’t want to spend extra paying for encoders and printing. Kuripot. Children are somehow “lucky” these days and it is really important to teach them the proper onlne behavior. Thanks 🙂

Wonderful that you are so encouraging to Julian. Blogging is a wonderful way to learn writing and spelling… 🙂 thanks for commenting at my PH post!

I agree with you Mary, with the use of sms, the youth, especially here in the Philippines have been spelling words in shortcut which is not good for them. Thanks for the visit 🙂

Hi Julie! How are you? Hope you had a great weekend. By the way, I have 2 awards for you at http://mlizcochico.blogspot.com/2008/01/forever-friends-award.html
Hope you like them. Happy Monday!

Liza, My apologies, I have just read this comment from you. I am having some problems with this WP email because it doesn’t go through my outlook and sometimes, I go directly to write a post and not look at the other parts of the dashboard. Having several blogs can be too tiring 😀 My apologies. Thanks so much, Liza.
