The Earth is a rich source of useful materials:

Subtracting Amounts of Money

To subtract amounts of money, remember the following:

1. Make sure that the decimal points that separate the pesos from the centavos are in one column.

2. Subtract amounts of money just like whole numbers.

3. Write or with the decimal point in the final answer.

Ang bawat karapatan ay may katapat na tungkulin.

Bawat mamamayan ay may tungkuling dapat gampanan.

Isagawa ang mga tungkulin sa tahanan, sa paaralan at sa barangay.

Atmosphere

Air is a mixture of gases. Some of the gases are needed by living things to survive. The layers of air that cover the Earth is called atmosphere.

Weather

Weather is the condition of the atmosphere on a given time and place. Weather changes and it affects our daily activities. People should always be prepared for any changes in the weather.

Adding Amounts of Money

To add amounts of money, remember the following:

1. Make sure that the decimal points that separate the pesos from the centavos are all in one column.

2. Add the amounts just like the whole numbers.

3. Do not forget to write the correct symbol ( or ) and the decimal point in your answer.

Landforms

There are seven continents around the world.

1. Asia, the largest and about one-third of the total land area on Earth.

The different landforms are:

1. Mountains, elevated landforms
2. Mountain range, a group of closely spaced mountains
3. Volcano, an opening in the Earth’s crust from which very hot flowing materials and gas erupt
4. Hill, an elevated landform smaller than a mountain
5. Plain, a vast, flat landform
6. Valley, landform between mountains
7. Island, a piece of land surrounded by water

Ang bansang Pilipinas ay may sariling pamahalaan.

Ang pamahalaan ay tumutugon sa mga karapatan ng mga mamamayan.

Ang pamahalaan at mamamayan ay nagtutulungan para sa kaunlaran ng bansa.
