Hamster Stayed for the Weekend

The son brought home a hamster yesterday. It’s not his. It belongs to a classmate who brought it for the Science Week but forgot to bring it home last Thursday.

Friday was a holiday and they didn’t have school.

Saturday was rehearsal day for the Dramatics Club where the son is a member. He was the one brought home the hamster because he was a classmate of the owner.

We went to the supermarket to look for hamster food. We found none save for plastic containers of rabbit food. I have to say “no” because if he brings back the hamster and we still have heaps of rabbit food, the kids might ask for a hamster or a rabbit. Which I have to say “no” to again and they will feel sad.

We gave the hamster apple slices and it nibbled on the slices in no time. He was busy going round and round the wheel last night and was fast asleep in the morning.

Anyway…

Tomorrow, he will bring back the hamster and give it back to the owner.
