DepEd Guidelines for Suspension of Classes
August 20, 2010 10:57 am From the Teacher, Homeschoolers No More, In the News, PhilippinesThe following are the guidelines for the suspension/cancellation of classes should there be a typhoon in the country, as per DepEd Order number 28 series of 2005 according to Education Secretary Br. Armin Luistro FSC:
Signal #1 raised by PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Administration): classes in pre-school are automatically suspended in affected areas.
Signal #2: classes from preschool, elementary and high school are automatically suspended in affected areas.
In the case of heavy rains but without any signals, the school principal, division superintendent or local government executive (mayors) may decide to cancel the classes.
