Heat is important. The Sun is the major source of heat on Earth.

Heat is useful in among others: cooking the food, ironing the clothes, boiling water, keeping the body warm, drying wet clothes.

Too much of it can harm living things.

Heat can cause burns and blisters.

Lesson 7

Objects may float or sink

These objects floated during our experiment: pencil, cotton bud, paper boat. Objects that are very light float on water.

These objects sank when we did the experiment: paper clip, fastener. Objects made of metals, glass and cement are heavy. When placed in water, these sink.

Lesson 7

Solving word problems involves answering the following questions:

1. What are given?

2. What is asked?

3. What will be done to solve the problem?

4. What is the number sentence?

The answers to these questions should lead us to these next steps:

5. Show the solution to the problem.

6. Write the final answer with the correct label.

Lesson 8

A fraction names a part or parts of a whole that is divided into equal parts.

The Holy Spirit Helps Me to Be Cheerful

• To be cheerful and joyful is what God wants for all men.

• Before Jesus went up to Heaven, He talked to His disciples telling them what to do. That should, “Ask and you shall receive and you joy may be full.”

• • St. Stephen is a saint who suffered being stoned but he accepted this with joy because of the Holy Spirit. When he was being stoned, the people heard him praying, “Lord Jesus, I offer myself to you, forgive me from my sins.”

It gives the title of the stories,poems and activities in the book. It also gives the number of pages where you can find the selection that you want to read.
