Ang ibang salita ay binubuo ng pantig. Ang pantig ay binubuo ng:

  1. Tunog na patinig lamang (P) Halimbawa: abo
  2. tunog na pinagsamamng katinig at patinig (KP) Halimbawa: guro
  3. tunog na pinagsamang patinig at katinig (PK) Halimbawa: itlog
  4. Tunog na pinagsama-samang katinig, patinig at katinig (KPK) Halimbawa: pawis
  5. tunog na pinagsama-samang dalawang katinig at isang patinig (KKP) Halimbawa: tsokolate o dalawang patinig at katinig (KKPK) halimbawa: trak
