From the Teacher, Younger Daughter
No Comments
Is your child being bullied in school? My younger daughter is being bullied in school.
What do you do when you learn about this?
Here are a few tips on what to do if in case your child came home from school and told you the nasty things his/her classmate has been doing to him/her:
- Keep calm
- Talk to your child and try to have him/her narrate what really happened and how it happened
- Take note of the date, time, place, witnesses and the circumstances when the bullying episodes happened. This is very important especially if you plan to write a complaint.
- Have your son/daughter write in a journal, daily if they must, about what is happening in the school.
- Set an appointment with the class adviser as soon as possible so that you can tell her what your child told you.
- If nothing happens after you have alerted/talked to the class adviser, write a formal complaint to the guidance counselor to let them know that you child is being bullied in school.

Colors are fascinating. For young children, coloring is a super fun activity.
However, there can NEVER be one color for some of the things that we say they are. Leaves are not only green and apples are not just red.
If there is a blue sky, there is a purple sky as well.
And there are red trees. Fire tree. Flame Tree. Caballero. Arbol De Fuego. Whatever is this specie called, it is still the Red Tree for us and these trees are seen everywhere bursting with red and orange hues from April till July.
I used to have a student who, young as he was, has a creative mind. During the first few days of school, they were asked to draw their homes. He drew a tree planted near their home but instead of coloring the tree as having green leaves, he colored the tree RED. He said the tree in front of their house is red.
The teacher can not accept his answer it seems. This teacher, perhaps she hasn’t seen a red tree or is not as observant as her young student. Errr… teacher? Are you ok?

As I have written in this blog post, the children are Homeschoolers No More.
I will try to upgrade where I left the posts hanging but I am not promising anything.
Meanwhile, thank you for taking time to visit. I had to disable comments because there are a few people out there who, obviously looking for answers to their children’s homework, stumbled upon our blog entries but left nasty comments.
If this is the kind of Filipino parents that are out there, I hope there aren’t many of you.
Sorry I just had to say my piece. Peace! ๐

Lunchbox Ideas: Yakiniku Beef and mushrooms
Yakiniku beef and mushrooms. I don’t really care much about exact measurements so adjusting the taste for this dish is up to the dietary requirements of theย one who will eat.
I just browned chopped garlic in a little olive oil, cooked the yakiniku beef (marinated with a little soy sauce and less sodium oyster sauce), added the sliced button mushrooms and added a dash of pepper.
Lunchboxes were empty when the children came home.
A classmate smelled the food (or tasted a bit) and said it tasted like the beef and mushroom rice being served by a popular fastfood chain.
Yey!
