The following are some of the heroes who fought for the Philippine Independence during the time when the country was colonized by the Spaniards.
- Dr. Jose Rizal – the national hero who fought with the Spanish authorities by way of his writing about the abuses of the Spanish authorities. Some of his writings are Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo
- Andres Bonifacio – considered the “Father of Katipunan”, the revolutionary group who rose against the Spaniards.
- Emilio Jacinto – the “Brains of the Katipunan”
- Melchora Aquino – known as “Tandang Sora” (Old Sora), she helped the wounded revolutionaries
- Gregorio del Pilar – “Hero of Tirad Pass”, the youngest general known to be courageous.
- Lapu-lapu – the first ever Philippine hero who fought the Spaniards when they arrived to the Philippines. He was said to be the one who killed Ferdinand Magellan.
- Apolonario Mabini – “Sublime Paralytic”
- GOMBURZA – the three martyr priests
- Manuel Luis Quezon – “Father of National Language” who promoted the Filipino language as the national language.

Marami ding mga likas na yamang-tubig.
- Maraming isda para sa pagkain.
- Mga isdang para ilagay sa aquarium.
- Mga pagkaing-dagat katulad ng hipon, alimango at talaba.
- Mga kabibe, korales at kapis na ginagamit para sa iba’t ibang gamit tulad ng bag at lampara.
- Mga talon na napagkukunan ng kuryente.
- Asin na nakukuha sa mga tubig-alat.
- Maliliit na bato at buhangin para sa paggaa ng kongkretong gusali.

The Philippines is rich in natural resources. There are abundant land resources.
- trees
- dairy products
- farms produce like fruits and vegetables
- medicinal plants
- animals
- mining products
Ang Pilipinas ay mayaman sa Yamang-lupa. Iba’t-ibang mga halaman, punungkahoy ang tumutubo sa mga kapatagan at kabundukan.
- Maraming mg gulay at prutas.
- Galing sa halaman ang mga tinatahing tela. Mula sa abaka, nagkakaroon ng bag, tsinelas, sumbrero at lubid.
- Marami ding mga halamang gamot.
- Ang mga kagubatan at kabundukan ay may mga troso na pinanggagalingan ng kahoy para gawing kagamitan.
- Sa mga sakahan ay may iba’t-ibang mga hayop.
- Ang mga minahan ay may iba’t-ibang mga mamahaling uri ng bato.
