Reading with Expression
Through gestures and the rise and fall of the voice, the beauty of the surroundings or of the characters in the story comes alive to those who listen.
A Long Life by Anne Easton
“You are old, / little book,” /
Said a little / brown child, /
“Yet your pages / are clean, /
They are still / stuff and white. //

Comments Off on Reading with Proper Phrasing
A good reader reads with proper phrasing. He/She reads a group of words, not word for word. That means a pause for commas and a stop for periods.
Example:
If one / can always say /
The best words / everyday /
It’s fun, / it’s love, /It’s peace, /
If one starts / with a “please”. /
